Nibbler compression vs. LHA (smaller is better)

Note that I have compressed many more files than this 'typical' selection.

LHA was a natural target because its ratios are familiar and better than all 11 legacy compressors tested so far, except LZX.

Legacy algorithms are a good target because modern archivers simply use a combination of legacy algorithms tweaked to compress better over many files but decompress far slower.

Nibbler decompression speed vs. competitors (larger is better)

The Nibbler decompresses at 5.33x floppy speed and 5.50x the fastest competitor for ratio on MC68000 at the time of writing.

Note that decompression algorithms normally scale very well from legacy CPUs to modern CPUs, including caching schemes.

Nibbler1.02o is available for comparison.
